Ten years ago I attended my first ever Glastonbury with my good mate Bob. It chucked it down all weekend.

With heavy rain before and during the Festival, the site turned into a lake of mud. Although licenced attendance was 95,000, there were many people who got in through holes in the fence before torrential rain on the Friday night made many decide to leave on the Saturday. Many of those who did stay spoilt their own enjoyment by moaning about the mud rather than enjoying themselves.

The following year it did the same again.

A second muddy year on the trot led to those who didn’t fancy repeating the hardships of last year leaving – by Saturday morning the reduced numbers were very obvious. But those who stayed were prepared to party – nothing was going to dampen the spirits.

No, I didn’t go and see Robbie!!!!

So I’m glad I didn’t do anything stupid like have a ten year celebration and attend this years Glastonbury, because it’s raining again!
