It’s Just A Ride…

Last night I attend the one of the premier screens of Hallam Foe at the start of the Edinburgh Film Festival. I wanted to see this film when I first read about it in i-on Magazine and then on Hugh MaclLeod blog. To be honest, I’d go and watch any film based in Edinburgh, Trainspotting, The Festival, Shallow Grave, Greyfriars Bobby, anymore I’ve missed?  But this film reminded me of being a student.

Back in the student days when we had the best student flat ever!  Which included a step in bath, two bathrooms, spare room, coaxial network!, spiral stone staircase like in a castle, two floors within the flat, EH1 post code, pub downstairs, hallway and kitchen big enough to ride your back around (bloody students!) and the Balmoral Hotel for your kitchen clock. Skint and bored on a Saturday night we would climb out of the kitchen window out on to the roof tops of the Royal Mile. Our favourite game was to shout out stuff to passing ghost tours in the ally ways.

Back to the film…

Hallam’s talent for spying on people reveals his darkest fears-and his most peculiar desires. Driven to expose the true cause of his mother’s death, he instead finds himself searching the rooftops of Edinburgh for love.

If my mates and I realised we could of found girls on the roofs of Edinburgh, I think we would of left the ghost tours alone and not wasted money in nightclubs!

I’ll leave you with the Trailer from the film, well worth going to see when it comes out at the end of the month.
