Last week I joined the City Car Club, something I should of done months/years ago. Living in the city centre I don’t really need a car and when I do, I can usually borrow my girlfriends.
But this year I have picked up five new clients so the need wheels has now increased, printer here, a new server there. Plus a client 25 miles outside of Edinburgh in the country side.
So what is the City Car Club?
Basically car sharing on a pay as you go basis (£3.50 +VAT per hour) for businesses with the first 50 miles free and 22 pence after that. In Edinburgh there are over 50 cars within a mile radius of the office, which you can pickup at a moments notice! Last week I booked a car online and 5 minutes later I was in the car.
Yeah not the coolest cars with those stickers plasted all over them, but hey it beats logging massive boxes around on buses, mess around with taxis and best thing is, when you done you just drop the car in its own parking space.
You should check out the Honda Hybrids!
What a feast of dials, knobs and buttons! Not sure what they all do, but it’s almost like driving a De Lorean with an ethical flux capacitor.

I always wondered what the City Car Club was. Nine years after moving to Edinburgh, and after just leaving the city, now I know.
